| Anne, me and Anna after the 5k race for myeloma last spring. |
...ME!!! No prego announcement this time - my brother Sam just got engaged!!!! The +1 to my side of the family is finally not just coming from us! I am so excited for Sam and Anne - they make a great couple and Anne will be a wonderful addition to the Hollenbach clan. My boys are super happy too because they LOVE Miss Anne and all the fun things she does with them when she's in town. The only dilemma is that we now will have an Aunt Anna (my sister) and an Aunt Anne to decipher between, but a little confusion has never stopped my family in the past and I'm sure it will be no problem in the future:) My sister Anna is by far one of my best friends in the world, and both of us are very much looking forward to having another best friend sister in the fam! Congrats to Sam and Anne!!!

On another but yet related note, this news came at good timing for my mom as well who will be starting chemo treatments tomorrow. Thinking about starting down the path of toxic, yet helpful, drugs can be more than daunting as I'm sure you all can imagine, and so to have some exciting and hopeful news like an engagement is/will be a wonderful distraction in the midst of what may be some darker days ahead. I know most of you are already doing so, but please continue to pray for healing in my mom's body and that the chemo pills would indeed be effective in helping to treat her myeloma. It really has been amazing over the last year to see how God is so clearly in all the details of her cancer and I am so thankful that we know we can trust Him going forward as well. Nevertheless, the more prayer surrounding us and her the better - so please don't stop!!!

Very exciting indeed!! You're right in saying that Sam and Anne's engagement is just what the doctor ordered - for all of us!
