Lake Lenape

One of my favorite things about this area is Lake Lenape! It's a beautiful park system that follows a large creek/small river called Lake Lenape through Perkasie and Sellersville. I actually grew up on the other side of the park and spent many hours running the bike paths or watching my brothers play Pennridge Little League at the baseball fields. Mitch also grew up playing Little League and riding his bike on some of the "off road" dirt trails. We can also both remember catching crayfish with our friends back in elementary school days. (On a sidenote- it's amazing how many things we did at the same time but not "together" and I wish there was some way to go back in time and see how many times our paths crossed without us realizing it! ) So I'm excited that we still live so close to the park and are only a block away from one of the entrances. When Caleb was little we took so many walks around the park, over the twin bridges to Landis Supermarket, or through the park to visit my parents. Now that Caleb's getting bigger he gets so excited when the "baseball guys" are playing and sometimes we walk down at night to check out which teams are playing and how many hits they can get! Another big attraction for both Caleb and Noah are all the ducks and geese that hang around the park. They (the ducks and geese) are so used to people feeding them that they always come swimming right over to see us which makes the boys very excited! This time of year is also so special because there are lots of ducklings and goslings to see and we have to go down regularly to check how big they are and to see if there are any new babies. Last time at the park we also even saw a blue heron (I think) which we had never seen before so that was fun!

Another great post, Sarah! I love that park and grew to love it too, but much later in life...it's fun because Jared and I probably crossed paths a lot of times too (the little freshman, when I was a senior) and we wonder the same thing!
