My mom has pictures of me and my brothers and sister in overalls around the time we were 2 years old, and so I've tried to do the same with our boys. Somehow this doesn't seem like it should be a big deal because I want it to be a non-professional "real" picture of them as they are at age 2. However, having them "just the way they are" is still somewhat difficult as it depends on the weather, do they need haircuts?, what shirt goes underneath?, do the overalls still fit (no - had to find different ones from what Caleb wore and I don't like these nearly as much), what background?, do I wait until the big bump on their head goes away? (in this case I didn't wait - notice the big bump over his left eye) and the obvious trying to get them to smile but not look cheesy or run away.
That being said, I tried taking Noah's picture back in May with a "real" camera, but the film got overexposed so all those pictures were a loss. Then I tried again in June with a disposable camera (our digital doesn't have enough pixels to enlarge) but those pictures also came out looking terrible. My last and final plot for Noah was to take pictures again with my grandfather's 35 mm camera and at the same time have my friend Lisa take pictures with her good digital camera. So, I obviously don't have any 35 mm shoots for you to see, but here are some of the ones Lisa took (the above one is my favorite) and one of Caleb from his photo shoot when he was little! Thanks Lisa for all your help and great pictures!

This is so sweet! What a great family tradition to keep with your boys...my sister has a picture of her twins like we had...but my mind is reeling for what picture tradition I can have with my kids...
Anyhow, love these...so sweet of your #2
Wow, Sarah, I guess I never thought about all those questions when I took the pictures of you guys, but maybe some of you wish I had???
