We started off this weekend with a planned family night which consisted of heading to DQ for their "buy 1 blizzard and get one for $.25" deal followed by a family sleepover in our room. This had been planned for awhile so the boys were already busy setting up their "bed" in our room several days before Friday - it was great - they loved just rolling around in their future sleepover spot and they stayed up there for long periods of time just making sure everything was ready! Caleb even packed his bag with all his clothes for the next day - my little planner!
The actual sleepover went about as we expected - the boys rolling around and laughing, mainly instigated by #2, for over an hour until finally falling asleep! Mitch and I had told them that we'd lay with them for a little bit and then be back up to sleep later, but I actually ended up falling asleep with the boys and never made it back down...oh well, it was nice to feel somewhat well rested in the morning.
Can't shovel it in fast enough!
Every spring, there are ducks and geese that have babies at the park down the street from us and these little ducklings were the first ones we've seen this year. The boys were so excited to see this first little family appear! There are also 2 geese sitting on nests that we have been checking on that are further downstream, so it shouldn't be long now until we see little goslings as well!

One of Mitch and my (correct grammar?) favorite things to do on a Saturday morning is to go out for breakfast, so when we got up the next day we decided to do just that and went over to the R&S for pancakes and eggs. Mitch needed to study the rest of the day for his upcoming test, so I took the boys to a nearby park to ride bikes and play on the slides.
Thankfully we had a beautiful start to a great weekend together, but as you know with kids and weather, things can change while you are blinking and as I write this now, Caleb is just starting to overcome a major stomach bug/fever he got Saturday evening into Sunday and the sunshine has turned to rain! But, I'm sure all of this will (I hope anyway) end quickly too and sometimes rain and sickness are nice reminders to slow down and rest!
