Close Calls!

I know God watches over us every day, but sometimes is it so much more clear to me than others...for example....

1) About 2 weeks ago, I went to shove a few last things into the tiny crevices left in our basement freezer.  I literally have been stocking this thing for weeks in preparation of baby/winter and this was my last attempt to fit in one or two more items.  Anyway, I open the door and it FALLS OFF!  Literally, the entire freezer door (it is a stand-up kind) just swung completely off and landed with a very very loud bang on our cement floor - sending all the cartons of applesauce on the door flying and leaving me staring wide-eyed at the hundred's of $'s of food that were on a ticking time clock!  The first thought through my mind was "where can I take all this food to stay cold?" and my second thought was "how can I, at 8 months pregnant, go get a new fridge set up before this all melts?".  Fortunately, my 3rd thought was to try to get the door back on to at least assess the situation some more before more melting occurred - and it worked!  I was able to duck tape the door successfully in place and fortunately, when Mitch got home he was able to figure out that it was only the bottom hinge that had broken and replaced it as soon as it was Fed-Exed to our house!  Crisis #1 averted!

2)  I have NEVER before locked my keys in my car - and yes, I did that last Friday.  Again, thank God, it was not an emergency situation and no people were in the car but it was my first time calling 911!  I was at the QMart with a friend and came out to find my key not in my purse, but waiting for me in the ignition of my locked van!  Thank goodness the day was not too cold and fairly sunny, I had my cell phone and I actually had no where I had to be (and we had a whole box of fresh donuts to keep us happy)!  So the boys and I just stood in the QMart parking lot for about 20 minutes until the police came and was able to open the van.  The boys did great and had fun playing "I Spy" while we waited, although they were definitely disappointed that the police car did not have the lights flashing and sirens blaring when it arrived (I was very glad it did NOT have those things on).  Crisis #2 averted!
