Last weekend, thanks to a gift certificate from my parents for our anniversary!, we went away for a special overnighter as a family to a little town near Lancaster called Bird-In-Hand. We've had several great vacations over the last few months, but it's been quite awhile that we've been able to go away just with the 4 (soon to be 5!) of us!
Although we weren't gone very long, we really had a great time with the boys and were able to do some really special things together like riding the Strasburg RR, swimming in the heated hotel pool and watching a family movie before bed. On our way home Sunday afternoon, we also stopped at Hershey's Chocolate World and Cabela's which the boys really enjoyed.
It was nice, too, how easy it was to head away for the night with Caleb and Noah - no diaper bag, diapers, booster seat, etc - just packed a few clothes and off we went! I'm trying to really enjoy the ease of life right now before our life gets crazy again, in a good way of course, with the baby! Here are a few pictures from our time away...
The hotel we stayed in had a little petting zoo, that unfortunately was closed for the season, but a few of the animals were out walking around. Below is a picture of the kid's section of the smorgasbord restaurant we ate in for all our meals...
My boys are getting so big!
Here comes the Strasburg train...
...and we're ready to go!
Daddy and Caleb...
Caleb and Noah decided to use some of their saved money to buy "worker hats" from the RR store - with working flashlights and all!
The boys and I outside Chocolate World - love this place!
Can you tell they LOVED the chocolate store - but really, who doesn't?! We were telling them in the below picture that this 5 lb. chocolate bar is currently about the size of their little brother/sister (my ultrasound last week said the baby is weighing in aroujnd 5 1/2 lbs already).
Noah was especially thrilled that we got to stand next to this giant Reese's on our way out!
So much fun!! Now the next few weeks are all about getting ready for baby...the countdown to Dec 10th is on!
