Summer 2012

Summer is over and I did not even post one single time.  I don't even know where all my time went, although I know if definitely did not go into the big list of summer projects I had hoped to accomplish!!

So here we are and school is back in session! Caleb is now in 2nd grade, Noah is starting Kindergarten and Micah is along for the ride as much as any 1 1/2 year old can be:)  We just started our school year this past week and I'm really excited about some of the things we will be doing this year.   Our family is involved again this year with a homeschool group called Classical Conversations and so we will also be joining up with that group once a week throughout this school year as well.

I am going to try my hardest to do a better job keeping up with this blog throughout the year, so we'll see how that goes!   My brother Sam is getting married in 2 weeks and after that we are heading to OCNJ with Mitch's parents for a week, so I'm sure I will want to share lots of pictures from both of those events.

But for now, here are some pictures from our adventures this summer...
The boys digging out back with some friends.
Soccer players!
Caleb and his friend Caden running the ball toward their goal.
Noah playing defense...
Micah learning some moves...
...although typically trying to keep Micah entertained during the games looked something like this:)
Micah loves my parents' dog and was excited when my dad brought Bandit to one of the games.
My Aunt Jane and Uncle Gene treated us to lunch at DQ one hot day!
Caleb had a week of soccer camp with Buxmont Torch (that's him above in his gray uniform).
Mitch and I had a fun night out on the Spirit of Philadelphia with some great friends!
My mom, Aunt Jane and I got some early applesauce in , although unfortunately on one of the hottest days of the year (and we have no AC!!).
This is what Micah was doing while we made applesauce....
or rather, THIS is what he was doing....!  Can you tell from these pictures that he is quite the handful these days???!!  If not - I'll drop him off at your house one day and you can see for yourself:)
Noah's Batman party!  Happy 5th to Noah!
We turned our attic into a Batcave and gave all the kids mini-flashlights bc it was super dark up there when the lights were turned off.  They had a great time and surprisingly, no one got hurt!
After the batcave, the kids all came down to find and spray the villians that were lurking in our backyard....and they managed to take down every single one so we were safe once again!

We took a trip out to the Turkey Hill experience with some friends of ours!
Caleb jumping off the dive at swimming lessons...
...and Noah getting ready to practice swimming at his lessons.
The last day of swimming they got to pick something at the snack stand and Micah was loving his ice cream!
A friend of mine got us tickets to the Philadelphia Soul game - QUITE the experience!!
Jammy run!  Every once in a while we get the kids up out of bed and take them out for ice cream in their pj's!
We spent a few days in the Poconos with my parents on this beautiful lake.
Caleb and Noah spent most of their time swimming in the water Micah spent most of his throwing rocks to Bandit.
Noah jumping off the dock...
...and my dad and Caleb jumping in!
One rainy day we went to the learning center at the lake and it was really fun!  The boys got to look in microscopes and learn all kinds of interesting animal facts.
Micah had a great time looking at (and NOT touching - ha!) all the stuffed animals they had in the center.
Checking out the man-made dam that filled in the lake.
Fishing, fishing and more fishing!  The boys also swam out to that dock in the background.
Caleb and Noah also went out for a few canoe rides with my dad to fish and check out the lake.
Noah getting ready for his canoe ride...
...and Micah enjoying the only kind of canoe ride he will get this year!
Walking down to see all the boats...
Getting ready for a campfire!
My dad and I took the boys for a hike at a trail nearby and they had fun walking the paths and catching lots of frogs!
Family party for Caleb (now 7) and Noah (now 5)!!
