"Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you."
Deuteronomy 31:6
As a parent, one of the things you work hardest to do is protect your children from danger, as well as from scary situations that may result in them harboring fear in their hearts. Try as we may, however, there is no possible way we can always be there to give them complete security or total protection. That is why I am so very thankful that we have a perfectly sovereign God who can do just that for our children (and us!!). I can only pray and hope that by our actions and faithful prayers, both our boys will grow to have a 100% solid trust that God is their loving heavenly Father who has promised to NEVER leave them or forsake them no matter what happens throughout their lifetimes.
Obviously prayer and reading the Bible are great ways for children to learn of God's faithfulness, and I think another great tool is this children's book (pictured above) called Sammy and His Shepherd. The author of this book, Susan Hunt, does a fantastic job using the text from Psalm 23 to put a very real meaning to God being our Good Shepherd. The story follows the life of 2 little sheep, one being cared for by a loving shepherd and the other living in a nearby field in terrible conditions because of her negligent shepherd. I absolutely love the book and am as excited as the boys to read what happens next to little Sammy in the story. If you can't tell, I highly recommend this book for anyone with kids, or really anyone in general!

We love that book too! In fact, that's a good reminder to get it back out to read again...it's been a while.
one of our kiddos favorites!
Being a mom has to be one of the toughest jobs out there emotionally, mentally, spiritually, even physically; and you are doing a great job Sarah! You are leading your children to trust in God.
Wow! The truths in this book took on a whole new meaning for you. You're doing a great job, Sarah.
Thanks Sarah! I am going to get this...we've recited Psalm 23 to JJ since he was a baby (and now susie) and he knows it by heart! How great to have a story to go with this psalm that he's heard at bedtime for so long...
Also, was honored to see that you "copied" about the Tim Tebow ad. Miss and love! p.s.Hope you saw the "shout out" collage with you on my blog!
