Ringing in 2010...

...with great friends, good food & 2 very awake little boys!!!  The past couple years we've gotten together for New Year's Eve with the same group of friends that has become a fun little tradition complete with lots of good food, games and a white elephant gift exchange.

We're still working on the kinks with the food because no matter what we do we have tons left over.  This year we decided to completely skip the meal altogether (a little nerve racking to the guys when this idea was proposed) and instead just do lots of appetizers and fondue for dessert - I think it actually worked out better than other years and of course we all still took food home.

The boys also love getting together with Caden and Aaron, and now baby Eva!, too and were talking all week about getting to go for a sleepover at their friends' house.  Although they did have a great time, the "sleep" part didn't happen at all for Caleb and not until 11:45ish for Noah...and that's with neither of them napping that day!  They are quite the little troopers!  But they had a blast watching 6 hours of movies together and occasionally coming down for some snacks:)

Oddly enough, Mitch was disappointed when this book was stolen from him in the exchange game (also odd that it was stolen)...

This was one of our treasures we brought for the white elephant, technically taken from my grandparents home during their recent move, but we didn't buy it so it counts...

Baby Eva looking wide awake around 11:30 after taking a long nap:)

Noah finally conked out on the floor...

...so we brought Caleb down to watch the ball drop (did anyone see the actual ball this year?).

And the necessary group photo!

***Question - is 2010 the start of a new decade or the end of a decade?  Apparently Seinfeld, Mitch and my dad (who are both mathematicians) argue that decades start with year 1 and go up to year 10 - meaning that 2010 is the end of a decade.   However most people are celebrating the start of a new decade...any thoughts? ***
