Beat the Heat!

Today is the 3rd day in a row that the temperatures are in the mid-high 90's and we are doing everything we can to keep cool! We don't have central air, but we have our upstairs window fans pumping like there's no tomorrow and have all the doors open so the cold air falls down the steps. Our pseudo AC actually works pretty well as long as we keep the shades closed and fans going to move the air around. If you came into our house today it would be fairly cool and you may even think we have real AC, however it would be pretty dark and all you would hear is A LOT of white noise! If you haven't guessed yet, one of the down sides to this method is that it feels like we're living in a cave...a cool cave...but still a cave. So despite the blazing sun and humid air, I took the boys out this morning to cool off in our baby pool and get some fresh air. Fortunately our yard is shaded well and with help of the water I don't think any of us were too hot! I tried putting Noah and Joel in the pack and play or the exercauser but they weren't having it, so I just put them all in the pool together and they loved it! Caleb stayed busy filling up his water pail and dumping it on all of our feet (although by the end Noah definitely got at least one bucket dumped on his head and luckily didn't mind)! Noah liked just splashing around and trying to pour and drink (gross!) the water out of his cup. And Joel was perfectly content to just watch all the action and seemed to love it when he got hit by some splashes of water! It was really cute and we all had a great time!
Busy with their cups!
Look mom I dumped it on my shirt!
Joel doesn't seem to mind or really even notice that it's his turn to get his toes wet!
I'm wet and I love it!
I put some bubble bath in the water and Caleb decided to wash his hair and face with the squirt bottle....he couldn't not laugh before he sprayed himself in the face...too funny!
