Fresh Idea Friday - Kitchen Gadgets

This past week has been a bit slow here on the blog mainly because Noah was sick Sun-Thurs so our days were relatively uneventful, yet at the same time fairly busy taking care of him...so not much to write about or time to write if there was anything! But Noah's better now and my friend Lisa posted a new Fresh Idea Friday on her blog so I'm here to give my input. Lisa's idea this past week was to pick our 3 favorite kitchen gadgets to share with everyone. I'm sure there are lots of others that I'll think of later this week that could have made the top 3, but when I first thought about it, here are my favorites:

My very heavy marble rolling pin that works amazingly well and can roll out pie dough much faster and evenly than my wooden one.

My measuring cup that slides in and out and is super easy to clean when using ingredients like shortening or peanut butter. Although I don't use this gadget all the time, when I do use it I love it!

And my 2 mashing tools - I figured they sort of counted as one thing. I use the one with the blades (on the left) all the time to cut pie dough and toppings, and I use the rounded one (on the right) a lot to mash bananas for banana bread, make mashed potatoes, or squash berries for pie fillings.
Be sure to check our Lisa's blog for other ideas or write about your own!

Thanks for sharing. I have a measuring cup like that one...I use mine a lot when I am baking. I would love to get a heavy rolling pin like that...anything that makes rolling out dough easier sounds great to me :) Thanks again for posting.
