Thanksgiving Crafts

This year I tried 2 new Thanksgiving crafts that both, I think, turned out really well. The first project was a Thanksgiving turkey that I made with my friends Lisa and Jenny while all our kids played around us, which was fairly interesting...at one point one of the balls of yarn was unwound all around the basement and us!....but somehow the kids all had fun and we got the turkeys finished! I think it will be pretty easy to keep the body part and just change out the feathers year to year and maybe save some of each year's feathers for the next. If anyone wants to try this turkey, the directions are from Parents magazine and you can find them here. Then a week later at our MOPS group, the craft for that day was to make pumpkin flower arrangements by hallowing out a small pumpkin and filling it with pre-cut flowers. I was really impressed with how easy it was to do and also how pretty the arrangements came out! So if anyone is looking for fairly simply Thanksgiving crafts that also look nice I would suggest these!

Caleb came up with all the ideas for the feathers this time so maybe by next year we'll have more of Noah represented...although I was impressed Caleb did make sure to include a feather for both blanket and thumb (his 2 obsessions) as well as Eeyore and nukkie (Noah's 2 must-haves).

Sarah, The flowers look great! Your turkey turned out cute, isn't it funny to see what the kids are thankful for. Hope you and your family have a nice thanksgiving.
