" 'For I know what I have planned for you,’ says the Lord. ‘I have plans to prosper you, not to harm you. I have plans to give you a future filled with hope' ". Jer. 29:11
The past few weeks have been filled with much more stress, sickness and feelings of "overwhelmingness" than we anticipated coming into these spring months (not that you can ever anticipate those sort of things!). Even as I write this, the boys are both fighting a pretty intense virus that has left all 4 of us with some sleepless nights as we try to find anything to help lower their high fevers (Caleb's was 105 last night!), ease their fits of coughing, and help them feel as comfortable as possible.
However, all that being said, the truth of the matter is that even though we may go through some rough patches in this life on earth, we can rest in the fact that it is ALL temporary. Christ's death on the cross conquered every sickness and cause for stress that this world can throw at us and that is an incredible reason to hope. Not only that, but we also know and believe that God is truly good and somehow has even the darkest days of our lives knit together for His good purposes and THAT is also an incredible promise that we can cling to.
When I was still living with my parents, my dad would wake us up every Easter morning saying "Christ is risen!", to which we were to reply, "He is risen indeed!". Such a small statement of faith, but in it contains all our hope. Happy Easter everyone:)

Sorry to hear about this sickness...I know how sick I was many times as a child and now being a parent, I wonder how my mama made it (wish I could talk to her about that)...but, they did make it...and I think, so often, that I just realize how sickness can be hardest for me b/c I feel so unproductive, etc...Anyhoo, everything you wrote is true and I will pray for everyone's wellness SOON! and that you would know the Lord's smile when nothing gets done and it's hard to move...
Hey Sarah,
Sorry that you guys have been fighting some sickness! It's really been a rough season for you...so much sickness! Hopefully by now you are all feeling much better. Thanks for your encouragement, and your steadfast faith is a real blessing.
Keeping you in my prayers...and hoping to see you soon:)
