Seriously, WHAT??? (Oh, and CONGRATULATIONS!!!)

This post is mostly about (and to) my friend Jen, along with a few of our weekend pictures at the bottom...

So all of you probably can think of a friend, or maybe you're one of them, that has crazy, bizarre things happen to them in ways that never happen to anyone else. This generally describes my best friend from high school, Jen, and this weekend definitely took it to the extreme. As many of you know her as well, you knew she was due on Easter with her 2nd child.
Well, Saturday morning, without going into too many details (but if you have ever had a baby you know what I'm talking about), things started to "happen". By mid-afternoon, she was having strong, close contractions and naturally went to the hospital. All seems normal so far.
However, after 2 hours of close contractions and pacing the hospital halls in pain, the contractions "seemed" to slow down for a couple minutes and she only measured 3 cm. The hospital said she should go home for awhile and come back when things heated up again. Again, things still seem somewhat normal for a pregnancy because sometimes it seriously does take a long time and it's fine to go home. All that being said...
...they arrived home at 7:00pm and baby Emily Grace was born 28 minutes later in the bathtub! Fortunately, Jen's husband is a trained EMT so I'm sure that helped, and a 911 call also provided several other helpers, but still....pretty crazy!
Both mom and baby are doing great, and, all that being said...I am absolutely THRILLED for Jen and Brian (and big brother Connor!) and cannot WAIT to meet little Emily! But seriously Jen, you know I'm saying all this because I love you, but next time (and I'm sure Brian agrees), I don't care what the nurses say, stay at the hospital if you can barely get out the door!!!
Check over at her blog if you want any more details because I'm sure she will give them out freely:)
As for our family, Saturday was beautiful and the boys were healthy enough (thankfully!) to spend tons of time outside!
Both Caleb and Noah had a great time digging holes and watering our new pansies...
...and we broke out the grill for the first time this spring!

That is crazy! I guess next time she's having a baby they won't send her home when she's 3 cm dilated! Glad to hear that all is well with your friend and their girlie though.
It was fun catching up with you at the shower on Sunday!
Hope the boys are feeling well!
