Some Things Are Cold....Some Things Are Not

So I went out last night with my friend Jen and came back around 1AM to find that our 1987 (almost as old as me!) fridge had breathed its' last breath and everything was melting. Fortunately we have a spare freezer in the basement that was completely empty so we were able to salvage everything that could be frozen. And Mitch's parents have an extra fridge at their house that they are graciously letting us use for at least the weekend, so thankfully we have some fairly quick easy fixes to the problem. That being said, these are all the things that ARE NOT cold...

Then this morning, after going to bed around 4AM (because when we finally got up to bed Noah woke up and was very loud, some happy some not, for about 2 hours) we awoke to a beautiful winter wonderland. So these are the things that ARE cold (but loving it!)...

We are starting to feel that everything we touch falls apart, so I would recommend keeping some distance from us with anything valuable....just joking...but seriously, we have to keep ourselves laughing at everything or else we will lose what's left of our sanity:)

hang in there everything will turn around! Check with your home owners insurance, when my parents freezer went they covered the food that was over their deductable amount. It adds up really quickly. Maybe that will make things look a little bit better too.

...sense of humor is definitely necessary...I wish I would approach a similar situation with as much...your happy boys in the snow show JOY in the midst of this...

I can't tell you the amount of broken-down things that I grew up with and as a kid, the thing breaking was never hard, just how my mom could react, so, you know your calm will be remembered and absorbed for years to come.

Hey Sarah! Just catching up on all your recent post...it's been really busy here, so I haven't done a great job keeping up with everyones' blogs.
Well, even though you are going through some difficult times, it seems like you are remembering to trust in God and allowing Him to work in your life through it. Abby is right, the boys will remember the way you responded to these situations, and will learn from you how to remain in Christ in all circumstances. What an example you are being to them, and others. Thanks for the encouraging words from you devotional.
What adorable pictures of the boys playing in the snow. Hopefully soon, we can get the boys together for another playdate.

So the question... is your fridge really that organized? If it is I'm highly impressed because mine never looks like that!
Praying for your family always.
