Yesterday was the big "digger" day at our house! The boys were basically occupied all day watching the little tractor/backhoe (Caleb insists it was a tractor but we keep telling him he is wrong and that it was a backhoe...to which he replies "no you're wrong") dig up our front yard and replace our broken water main. Considering how deep the ditch was to get to the pipe and how long the guys were here, I am very impressed how little of our yard was actually torn up (and Mitch is very thankful they didn't have to destroy our walkway)! Here's are a few shots of all the action...
There were people all over our house yesterday - front, back and basement! Below you can see the red hose that was our water supply for the last week, connecting us to our neighbor's water line. The man under the porch actually has no connections to the water problem but has been at our house for the last couple weeks on and off finishing our downstairs bathroom.
Funny story - right after I took this picture, Mr. Nemec (the man under the porch) stood up and I could see him looking up to our 2nd story window, which is Caleb's bedroom, and talking. I guess with all the noise out front I couldn't hear what was going on, but Caleb was apparently talking to him while he was working (Caleb loves having Mr. Nemec here and fills him on all areas of life), and right as I'm figuring out what is happening I hear Caleb ask "do you have any pets?" to which Mr. Nemec replied "yes a cat":)

Thank goodness that they didn't have to dig up your front walkway! What good news. I wish we lived closer so that I could have brought Connor to see the "digger." He would have LOVED it! In fact, when we parked at Artsfest for Memorial Day, we realized that we could have just spent the entire afternoon in the parking lot. He was fascinated by all the cars, trucks, and motorcycles that he saw. Forget all of the fun activities that we did with him... he would have been completely content to stay in the parking lot for a few hours! Haha. Oh, boys!
