This year we celebrated Christmas early with my Hollenbach grandparents because they left this morning for Arizona (they were supposed to leave yesterday morning but that's a whole other story in-itself that I'm not getting into here...) to visit my dad's brother and his family. So Sunday afternoon we headed over to the other side of Perkasie and had our normal Christmas Eve celebration...tons of snacky things, presents from Bon-Ton, and stockings full of candy and toothpaste:) Since this Christmas tradition happened so early, I have time to actually write a nice blog about it...I'm thinking that our Christmas morning, afternoon with my Hertzler grandparents, evening with Mitch's parents, Friday dinner with my cousins and Saturday pollyanna with just my immediate family will get squished into one big blog sometime after Christmas:) So here are some of our first Christmas memories for 2008...

Sisters!! People always comment that my sister Anna and I look alike and we always disagree...here, however, I can see it a little bit

Dave and Sam eating up every last morsel of each shrimp (Sam was anyway....I kind of think Dave was more like me and going to the next one if the tail was too hard to pop out...is that right Dave?)
Noah helping Gigi open her present...both boys were very into helping out this year and Caleb did a great job handing out all the gifts
You have to understand that my grandma is a huge fan of Bon-Ton. She was an avid Hess's shopper when that was still around and has continued to be a loyal customer of the store that took it's place. So, that being said, after a present is unwrapped, everyone says (Caleb included) "Look...my present is from Bon-Ton!":) (Definitely funnier in person)
The other part of the Bon-Ton tradition is that all the girls always get the same thing and all the boys always get the same thing (sometimes the colors are varied). So this is my brother Sam, who was the last of the 4 guys (my dad, Mitch, Dave and Sam) to open his Bon-Ton sweater:)
Here we are with our sweaters:) Oh and the boys got really fun Thomas shirts that make train noises!
After presents we do stockings....Noah discovered that he can now open Hershey Kisses by himself...I realized this only after he was well into at least his 2nd one:)

My grandmother loved the Bon-ton too...every year she'd ask us to take her there so she could do her Christmas shopping. How funny!
Hope you enjoy the rest of your Christmas celebration...it's fun that you got to start a little early!
Looks like a great time!! Thanks so much for picking up that extra present for me, it's perfect. Did you find the check on the door?
