The One and Only...

...leftover sandwich! The first year we were married I was officically introduced to the leftover sandwich. Apparently it is much more common than I realized and maybe many of you do this too, but I had never heard of or done such a thing before marrying Mitch. So what is it? Basically a little bit of everything, literally (esp the cranberry sauce), from Thanksgiving dinner is layered between bread and, here's the really weird part, covered with cheese. All of that ginormous entity is then fried in butter until perfectly crisp and is best dipped in gravy. Last night was deemed our "leftover sandwich night" so I fed the kids early, popped in a movie, and when Mitch got home he went right to work on these two delicious masterpieces. I seriously thought it sounded like the grossest thing when I first heard about it years ago, but I gave in to at least trying a bite...and now I have to agree that they are so good and that I might even look forward to it even more than Thanksgiving dinner itself! Crazy, I know, but try if for yourself before you judge!

We found it also is complemented nicely by a light white wine:)

The best part of Thanksgiving, the leftover turkey sandwich! Our's is a little bit different, but yours looks great, I'll have to remeber it for next year. Looks like the boys had a great time hunting for a christmas tree. The picture of Noah picking the little tree is great and then Caleb picking a huge tree!!!

Love that too! But, we don't put cheese on or fry in butter...so ours is the healthier version;) and quicker...
