Tis the Season...

for sickness:( Unfortunately admist the holiday cheer, Noah has come down with some sort of cold that makes him sound like he has a little animal in his throat...so we've been sticking close to home and watching the monsoon rainstorms out our windows. Fortunately, besides a lowgrade fever and strange sounding cough, Noah's been in a pretty good mood so we've been able to do a few Christmasy things like decorating our tree and...actually I think that's about it...oh and I've done some online shopping during naptimes. So needless to say it doesn't completely feel like Christmas yet, but tomorrow we are going to begin the baking frenzy and next week I am going to tackle some of the homemade gifts I have for people. I've always been more of a last minute, wrapping the gifts quick before Christmas Eve service kind of person...and I kind of like it that way, although now with kids it's getting harder to do things last minute because things can take SO much longer to actually get done, especially if you throw a sick child into the action! But we're all excited nonetheless and I guess ready or not, Christmas is coming!!...

Caleb ever so carefully hanging his reindeer ornament

Noah looking for just the right one to put on the tree...

...he found it....but uh oh...his first attempt ever at hanging a Christmas ornament didn't go so well! And thanks to my ever needing to capture every moment on camera...this happened not only once, but 2x...hence after the second mishap we have no more pictures:)
At least Noah knows he has to help clean up the mess he made...
On a different note...my mom ordered High Five (the younger kids version of Highlights magazine) for the boys and Caleb has already read through the entire thing a dozen times or so. One of the pages is a recipe for strawberry yogurt pops and so since we had nothing much else to do with our time, we tried making them this morning and both boys loved them!
Caleb measuring out the strawberries
Yummy!

Strawberry Yogurt Pops
1 1/2 c. fresh or frozen (thawed) strawberries
1/2 c. vanilla yogurt

Blend together and pour into small cups. Put a wooden stick in the middle and freeze. That's it....not really even a recipe but simple enough that it was easy to let the boys help out:)

I think we should plan on the 22nd, does that still work for you?? I hope so!
