...thanks to an amazing husband, two fantastic little boys and lots of you family and friends out there...this birthday weekend for me has been so much fun! The weekend started on Friday night when we waved goodbye to the boys at Mitch's parent's house (thanks grammy and pop!) and headed out to dinner at the Olive Garden. On the way to dinner, Mitch surprised me with 2 tickets to the 19th St Civic Theatre in Allentown to go see 'A Christmas Carol' that we to see that night after dinner. If that were not enough, he also had invited a bunch of our college friends to meet us afterwards at the Chicken Lounge, a bar/restaurant that we spent a lot of time at during college, so although we were both yawning on the way to the Chicken Lounge around 10:30, we pushed through and didn't get home till after midnight...which is a first for us in a long time. Sat morning we woke up to the phone ringing and my dad asking if we could meet him to pick out their Christmas tree and it was only then that we realized we had slept till 10AM....awesome:) So we went to pick up the boys and walked in just as Caleb was throwing up! He said he felt ok though so we managed to make it over to cut down our tree and help my dad pick out their tree...so that was a nice holidayish morning. Then we came home and I put the boys down for naps and left again around 3:30 to go with my friend Laura to a women's night our for our church called 'Christmas House Tours'. After traveling around to four different homes of members of our church and looking at all their beautiful decorations and eating all their wonderful food, I came home to a house that also smelled so good because Mitch and Caleb had just finished baking a cake for me! Not only that, but tonight we're heading over to my parent's house for more cake!! Anyway, I'm sure this is way too many details for all of you, but I have just felt so thankful this weekend for all the love and thoughtfulness shown to me! I am so grateful for my husband who treats me like a princess and my boys who make me feel like their hero...and to all the rest of our family and friends that are such a blessing in my life...thank you!
This is what I brought home from our Christmas Tours night! At the first house we went to, the hostess gave us one of these containers with 2 of the spots filled in, and then at each home we went to, the hostess there had made a special treat that we could fill in another hole. It felt kind of like grown up trick or treating...and I'd take these treats anytime over Halloween candy!
Caleb helping me blow out my 28 candles today at lunch...notice all the smoke?...they were trick candles:) (And also notice that I couldn't not try some of the cake last night)
