"That's My Caleb!!!"

If any of you have ever seen the oldie but goodie movie "The Music Man", you may remember the mom that stood up at her kid's band program and yelled "that's my Johnny" (not sure about the name but you get the idea). That's what I felt like doing last night at Caleb's first ever little "program" that he was in for Vacation Bible School at our church. All week long our whole family was at the church from 6-8:30 each night helping out in various forms with the little lessons the kids were learning at "Crocodile Dock".

I helped "teach" Caleb's class (although it was a little more like crowd control) as they learned through stories, DVDs and crafts to "fear not" because "God is with us". There were lots of other extra parents hanging around the church each night so Mitch had a great time spending time with guys he doesn't see very often, freeing Noah once in awhile from the nursery to play on the playground and he also helped out with Caleb's class once when I had a meeting.

This past week at VBS was so great although I am glad it doesn't last forever...it was pretty exhausting! The boys weren't in bed before 9:30 most nights and one night we even stopped for ice cream afterwards so that night was even later. However, hearing Caleb talk about what he learned and seeing him up front at the final program doing all the little hand motions and trying to sing along with his friends - so worth it!
Above are Caleb and I with his class (we're in the middle...I have the jean jacket on and he has a brown striped shirt) and below is Noah watching all the kids and doing his own "this little light of mine".
Kylie and Caleb are 12 minutes apart and were the youngest (and cutest in my opinion) kids in VBS...technically the age is 4-4th grade but we snuck them in since they will be 4 in a few weeks.
Craft time! Here they are stuffing turtles...one for them to keep and one to send on a missions trip with our youth group.
And here they are following Moses (with the cloud on his head) as they wander in the desert...
...and now they are crossing the Red Sea on dry ground!
This is Caleb up front (middle looking back) singing at the ending program.

I'm surprised these toy crocs made it through the week with all the kids playing with them!
Grammy and pop came along for the program, as did my sister and brother Sam, and here we are eating snacks afterwards.
The boys have the best uncles and aunt:)
Uncle Sam taking the boys for their first canoe ride (we brought my dad's canoe over for a prop) as he pushes it out to the van.

Looks like you all had a great week of VBS! Our church is doing the same one next week and it will be Sydney's first year too.

It's wonderful to see you and Mitch establishing your family in the word of God. I love these Bible School pictures - they bring back alot of memories - and the prayer you included in the previous post is awesome.
