Yesterday morning I had a 'Cars' themed birthday party for both Caleb and Noah with a bunch of their friends! It's funny because when Noah was born and we had 2 boys with birthdays 23 days apart, I remember saying that I never wanted to have their birthdays celebrated together....and that I definitely didn't want to have a big birthday party every year for them! Well today just blew both of those ideas out the window!
It all started when a friend of mine found a cute 'Cars' cake for really cheap in the freezer section, which I of course bought thinking that we would just have a cake playdate, or maybe even take the cake to one of our summer MOPS activities. But then as it got closer, it just seemed like so much fun to have a boys party here complete with crafts and food - so that's what I did! Part of my reasoning is that as they get older, parties get a lot more tricky to know how to entertain older boys, AND that I love having my friends over - so this was a perfect reason!
It worked out great because I have several friends in the area that have boys right about the same age as ours and they all even seem to be somewhat into the movie 'Cars'. It seemed like everyone had a good time - thanks to all of you who came and for the awesome gifts for the boys - they are loving all their new toys!!

Sam loved helping Noah open his gifts, which Noah liked because they were opened faster...worked out well for both of them!

Sarah, looking at these pictures and reading about the "boy party" makes me realize that you are definitely and thoroughly a mom - not a new mom anymore but an established mom. Funny thing is, it doesn't seem like nearly 25 years since that was me. Enjoy!
So fun! I don't blame you for doing it together...it makes sense...as a twin I never minded birthdays together and now it doesn't seem like my birthday without being with my twin! It won't be so easy with a boy and a girl to have the same theme...we'll see...I can't believe our boys are at the 2 year mark! Where did the time go!!!
